Haircut 100 – Boy Meets Girl

Haircut One Hundred are a British pop group formed in 1980 by Nick Heyward. The band had four UK Top 10 hit singles between 1981 and 1982, including „Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)“ and „Love Plus One“.

Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)“ is the debut single by British new wave band Haircut One Hundred, released in 1981. The song appeared on their 1982 debut album Pelican West. The single was backed by the track „Boat Party“, and reached #4 on the UK Singles Chart in October 1981.

Les Nemes (born 5 December 1960, Croydon, England) is an English bassist. His first band was Haircut One Hundred, who went on to enjoy success in the early 1980s and spawned a number one album and four Top 10 singles in the UK. The records also charted in the US, where the band were starting to enjoy the beginnings of major success but broke up before this was achieved. From this, the band carried on with Marc Fox on lead vocals, and recorded a critically received album which was not supported by sales.

Nemes went on to tour and record as a session musician for Hugh Masekela, Friends Again and Rick Astley.

Nemes moved to Spain in 2003, and is now writing and recording for a new band, Real, with former Spanish pop artist Harley (Henry Quintero) and drummer Matt Green. Nemes also tours with his Haircut 100 bandmates.
